FLOATING :)

Thank you Auntie Mindy for this awesome hand me down! We had a lot of fun floating around with him in the pool last weekend.

4 MONTH DOC APPT.

It's official.. Lucas has seen every doctor in Gilbert. LOL! I realize I'm SUPER high maintenance when it comes to doctors but c'mon! Unfortunately my search for a great doctor that can meet my ridiculously high standards will continue. Anyway, his 4 month appointment went well. He is 15 lbs 8 oz (50-75th%) and 25.75 inches (75th%).  Doc said to ignore the percentile for his weight since it isn't accurate due to him just getting over being sick.  He was actually that same weight 3 weeks prior and had gotten down to 15 lbs from all the vomitting. We discussed some sleep issues that he's been having and also discussed introducing fruits and veggies.  I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!  I have to say though.. 4 months is MY FAVORITE age so far!  I know I probably said that about 3 months but now 4 months has it beat. I swear every morning he wakes up cuter. :) He laughs all the time, is constantly smiling and is just so adorable when he "talks" and squeals.  I really do think that he is just enjoying life which makes me happy. As for what's new with him.. he just got over a short phase of not wanting to sleep at night which was pretty brutal.. but I think he's over that now since he's done well the past several nights and then slept a whopping 13 HOURS last night (just woke up once at 2am to eat). He continues to love to stand and can even stand up all by himself if holding onto something (like the couch).. I don't think they are supposed to be able to do this yet but I'm not surprised since he's been "standing" since he was just one month.  He rolls from front to back but hasn't figured out back to front yet, he just rolls from his back to his sides when he's playing with his feet. One thing that he does now that cracks me up is he holds my nose while he eats.. sometimes he even sticks a finger in each nostril. LOL! He also LOVES to spit and blow bubbles.. He has been doing great eating cereal this past month and we look forward to start trying some fruit and veggies. Oh and we are slowly weaning him off of one of his acid reflux meds and he seems to be doing really well so that is a huge relief.  I'm secretly hoping that he won't need any of the meds by 6 months..

FEET

So as I mentioned before, Lucas is soooo in love with his feet right now. They are absolutely his favorite toy which is very convenient since they are attached to his body.. he is also at the stage where all he wants to do is sit up.. he doesn't like laying reclined in his vibrating chair anymore and instead tries to sit up or as I call it - work on his core. :)  This new sitting up thing has made bath time a little more interesting!! He is now all over the place instead of just laying there so that I can easily bathe him.. I'm going to need to ask around for some advice on how to make bath time a little more manageable now that he's getting more mobile.. maybe it's time to venture out of the sink tub??  Here are a few pics of Lucas sitting in his bumbo longing for those precious feet of his.. the entire time he was in it he was trying to figure out how he could get to those feet!! LOL!!  He also started making this wierd little face all the time - I got a few shots of it tonight.. :)

 (this is the face!)

POOL TIME

Lucas has no choice but to be a little fishy.. :) so far he seems to enjoy being in the pool.. looking forward to the water warming up though..

ACTIVITY CHAIR

Lucas tried out his activity chair for the first time today and seemed to really like it. He has been grabbing at everything lately and tries to sit up when laying in his vibrating chair so we figured it was time to put him in this thing. He can touch the ground on the lowest setting and had fun moving all around... the last picture is of his newest obsession - his feet!!!  He found them about a week ago and is now hooked. Whenever he is laying down he is holding his feet. :)

SICK BABY :(

I can't believe it's been over a week now... well over a month if I'm counting from when he first got sick.. I returned to work and Lucas started daycare on April 18th.. and that same week my little boy got sick.. started with a little congestion that turned into a bad cough that just would not go away. I finally decided to take him to the doctor the week before last to see if there was anything they could do (I didn't take him sooner because he didn't have a fever and his boogs were still clear).  Well the doc diagnosed him with Bronchiolitis and an URI and put him on antibiotics. That was a Wednesday. The following Saturday we found him in a huge pool of throw up when he woke up (saddest thing in the world because I have no idea how long he was laying in it!!!) then later that afternoon I witnessed the worst projectile vomitting I have EVER seen. It was so bad I started crying.. although it didn't seem to bother Lucas in the least.  We went straight to Urgent Care and they told us to take him off the antibiotics and that he should have never been put on them in the first place. They then gave us breathing treatments to help with his wheezing.. Then Sunday came and he was still vomitting and I was now worried about dehydration since he was barely wetting diapers - so off to the ER we went. We are lucky to live very close to a great Childrens Hospital.  They did blood work, a chest x-ray and gave him IV fluids for dehydration. They said he had probable slight pneumonia and gave us a different antibiotic, took him off the breathing treatments and gave us this little contraption to pound on his chest with (to break up any mucus in his lungs).. Monday rolls around and he is STILL vomitting :( AND wheezing..  so I make another doctor appointment (with a different pediatrician since I don't want him going back to his original doc)... long story short (kinda too late for that I guess) - he's now seen five different doctors and my baby is still vomitting. :(  I thought we were finally in the clear this weekend but then he threw up again today... it is awful and I don't know what is causing it.  He is happy as can be though and his lungs now sound crystal clear (according to his last doc appointment this past week).. we just don't know why he keeps throwing up!!  All the docs thought it was from the antibiotics but it is now Saturday and he hasn't had any antibiotics since Monday.. Just hoping and praying that he gets better soon..  :( :(
